water

Let’s talk about one of the simplest, most powerful wellness tools out there—water! 🥤

When the summer heat turns up (especially here in Florida ), staying hydrated isn’t just a “nice-to-have”—it’s essential.

And believe it or not, it’s a total game-changer for both weight loss and overall well-being.

Why hydration matters (especially now):

✅ Boosts metabolism – Even mild dehydration can slow your body’s fat-burning engine.

✅ Keeps hunger in check – We often mistake thirst for hunger, leading to unnecessary snacking.

✅ Supports digestion and detox – Water helps keep everything moving.

✅ Improves energy and focus – Feeling foggy or sluggish? Water could be the answer.

✅ Protects you from the summer heat – Hydration helps regulate your body temp and prevents energy crashes.

How much do you need?

A good rule of thumb: Aim for half your body weight in ounces of water each day. (So if you weigh 150 lbs, that’s about 75 oz daily.)

Sweating more or exercising outdoors? You’ll want to bump that up even more to stay well-hydrated.

💧 Hydration tips for hot days:

💦 Start your morning with a full glass of water—before your coffee. (That’s my personal routine too!)

🥒 Add flavor with cucumber, lemon, mint, or berries.

⚡ Don’t forget your electrolytes—especially if you’re walking or working out outside. Add a sugar-free electrolyte powder or try coconut water with a pinch of sea salt. (I personally use 40,000 Volts Electrolyte Concentrate by Trace Minerals.)

⏰ Set hydration reminders—“drink water” alarms are a thing, and yes, they work! (I set alarms for soooo many things.)

🍉 Eat your water too—think watermelon, cucumber, strawberries, and romaine.

If weight loss is your goal, hydration plays a critical role—it supports your metabolism, curbs appetite, and helps your body burn fat more efficiently.

It’s one of the core strategies I use with my clients.
